Living Map Launches Digital Wayfinding at Footscray Hospital
Living Map’s digital mapping and wayfinding solution is now live at Footscray Hospital in the western suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. This marks the largest hospital project mapped by Living Map to date, spanning 10 levels, more than 500 beds, and supporting over 15,000 patients annually.
Delivered in partnership with VitalHub UK, experts in patient flow, the all-in-one solution combines VitalHub’s operational expertise with Living Map’s advanced mapping technology to create a seamless experience for patients and visitors.
Accessible via landscape touchscreen kiosks and the hospital website, patients can now explore the hospital map, locate departments and services, and plan their visit in advance — helping them feel prepared before they even arrive.
“Hospitals are complex environments, and finding your way through them shouldn’t add to the stress of an already challenging day. Working closely with VitalHub UK, we’ve delivered a clear, reliable digital mapping and wayfinding solution at Footscray Hospital that works across kiosks and the web, helping patients and visitors understand the site before they arrive and navigate it confidently once they’re there. It’s a strong example of how thoughtful collaboration and well-implemented wayfinding can quietly improve the everyday experience of a large, busy hospital.” said Phil Rae, Chief Product Officer at Living Map.
The new wayfinding system removes unnecessary stress during what can already be a challenging time, improving accessibility and confidence, enabling patients and visitors to get where they need to go on time, and enhancing the overall patient experience.
