Proto & Living Map Launch Chatbot and Wayfinding Solution at Mactan-Cebu Airport

Mactan–Cebu International Airport (MCIA), the Philippines’ second-busiest airport with over 12 million passengers annually, has launched a digital assistant to improve the passenger experience and ease operational pressure.

In partnership with Proto, a leader in AI-powered chatbots, and Living Map, a specialist in digital wayfinding, the new assistant provides real-time flight updates, directions, general enquiries, and feedback services in 12 languages.

Previously handling over 400 weekly service calls, the airport now offers seamless, mobile-based support, including airport indoor navigation to help passengers move confidently between terminals, gates, lounges, and amenities.

Living Map integrated intelligent mapping into the chatbot, delivering intuitive, location-based wayfinding to reduce stress and missed connections, a challenge that contributes to global travel disruption and operational costs.
